Therapy offered by:

Ami Robertson

Trauma-Informed Somatic Therapist & Movement Facilitator

Chronic Illness & Persistent Pain Therapy

Chronic illness and persistent pain therapy for people living with autoimmune conditions, fibromyalgia, fatigue and ongoing pain, helping create more ease, capacity and a life less dictated by symptoms.

Who Its For

People living with chronic illness, persistent pain, fibromyalgia or autoimmune conditions; those experiencing fatigue, ongoing symptoms or the emotional and nervous system impact of long-term pain.

What To Expect

Living with chronic illness, persistent pain, autoimmune conditions or fatigue can change your relationship with your body. When symptoms fluctuate or your capacity changes from day to day, it can be exhausting to continually push through or feel at odds with what your body needs.

Ami brings together somatic therapy, movement based therapy and talking therapy, working gently with sensation, breath, movement, emotion and nervous system responses. Rather than asking you to override your body, sessions create space to listen to it with curiosity and build a more compassionate relationship with your symptoms, limits and changing capacity.

Informed by lived experience of chronic illness and disability, Ami understands that healing does not always mean being symptom free. The work is about building nervous system regulation, greater ease and capacity, and supporting you to live more fully within the realities of your body.

What Therapy with Ami Looks Like

Sessions with Ami go beyond talking and insight alone. Their trauma informed approach brings together talking therapy, somatic therapy, movement based practices and nervous system awareness, creating space to explore not only what has happened in your life, but how those experiences may continue to live within your body, emotions and relationships.

Ami works relationally and collaboratively rather than following a rigid therapeutic model. Sessions are shaped around you and may involve conversation, body sensations, breath, movement, emotion and nervous system responses, always working at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful. This can be particularly supportive if you have tried more traditional or less relational forms of therapy, understand your patterns intellectually, but still feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected or unable to create lasting change.

Ami brings an affirming understanding of neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identities, chronic illness and disability into their wider therapeutic practice. The work supports greater nervous system regulation, self understanding and emotional capacity, helping you develop a more connected and compassionate relationship with yourself, your body and the way you move through the world.
