Trauma-Informed Somatic Therapist & Movement Facilitator
LGBTQIA+ Identity & Belonging Therapy
LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy for individuals navigating identity, belonging, relationships and trauma, helping you reconnect with your body, nervous system and authentic sense of self.
Who Its For
LGBTQIA+ people exploring identity, sexuality, relationships or belonging; those experiencing minority stress, disconnection, trauma or difficulty feeling fully themselves.
What To Expect
Ami offers LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience as a queer, non binary and neurodivergent person. Sessions offer space to explore identity, belonging, relationships and trauma without having to explain, minimise or hide parts of who you are.
Through trauma informed somatic therapy, relational and movement based approaches, you can explore how experiences of masking, people pleasing, disconnection or not feeling fully accepted may be held within your body and nervous system.
The work is not about fitting yourself into another version of who you think you should be. It is about reconnecting with all parts of yourself and building a more authentic, embodied sense of identity and belonging.
Sessions with Ami go beyond talking and insight alone. Their trauma informed approach brings together talking therapy, somatic therapy, movement based practices and nervous system awareness, creating space to explore not only what has happened in your life, but how those experiences may continue to live within your body, emotions and relationships.
Ami works relationally and collaboratively rather than following a rigid therapeutic model. Sessions are shaped around you and may involve conversation, body sensations, breath, movement, emotion and nervous system responses, always working at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful. This can be particularly supportive if you have tried more traditional or less relational forms of therapy, understand your patterns intellectually, but still feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected or unable to create lasting change.
Ami brings an affirming understanding of neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identities, chronic illness and disability into their wider therapeutic practice. The work supports greater nervous system regulation, self understanding and emotional capacity, helping you develop a more connected and compassionate relationship with yourself, your body and the way you move through the world.
