Tanya Forgan
Trauma-Informed Somatic Therapist & Embodiment Practitioner
Menopause & Midlife Wellbeing Therapy
Menopause and midlife therapy supporting women navigating changing identity, emotional wellbeing, relationships and nervous system regulation during this stage of life.
Who Its For
Women navigating perimenopause, menopause or midlife change; those experiencing shifts in identity, emotional wellbeing, relationships or their connection with themselves.
What To Expect
Menopause and midlife change can affect far more than your hormones. You may feel exhausted, anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from your body, struggle with sleep or find that the demands you once managed now feel impossible. Changes in identity, relationships and confidence can add another layer.
Now in her fifties and navigating menopause herself, Tanya brings lived understanding alongside decades of experience in bodywork, embodiment and trauma informed practice. Through somatic therapy, nervous system regulation and restorative practices, sessions support your body to move out of chronic stress and develop greater regulation, which may help ease symptoms such as overwhelm, disrupted sleep, tension, fatigue and emotional reactivity.
The relationship between stress, the nervous system and hormonal health is complex, so the work isn't about promising to “balance your hormones”. Instead, Tanya supports the conditions that help your body regulate more effectively, while helping you reconnect with yourself and navigate perimenopause, menopause and midlife with greater energy, resilience and self trust.
With over 30 years of experience holding transformational spaces, Tanya brings a depth of presence that allows therapy to move beyond simply understanding your story. Her work is particularly suited to those navigating grief, identity, belonging, menopause, relationships and significant life transitions.
Tanya’s approach weaves trauma informed somatic therapy, embodiment, nervous system awareness and grief work with the healing potential of relationship. There is space for what life does not always make room for: grief alongside joy, vulnerability alongside strength, and rest alongside the pressure to keep going.
As a mixed race woman who grew up between cultures, Tanya also brings a deeply personal understanding of identity and belonging, and of what it can mean to find your place within yourself, your relationships and the wider world.
Sessions are not about fixing you or becoming someone new. They offer a space to explore what lies beneath years of expectation, protection and survival, reconnect with your body and discover a more honest and authentic way of being in your life.

I came to Tanya while moving through the end of a 16-year relationship and a painful, messy rupture. I was beginning to realise that I had been repeating the same relational patterns, and I was carrying a great deal of grief that I wanted to allow to move through me in a held and supported way. With Tanya’s guidance, I was able to soften and surrender to the experience, to feel and accept all that was present. She shared somatic tools and practices that helped me move emotions that had felt stuck, while her insightful questions gently shifted my perspective and empowered me to see both myself and my experience differently. I came away with a deeper trust in myself and in my capacity to navigate the inevitable contractions of life.
